Connect Ingram Micro to Business Central

What Ingram Micro has in stock right now, and at what price, is in the partner portal. The order is created in Business Central. AutoFlow connects the two, so nobody types part numbers from one window into another any more.

The connection

What AutoFlow does with Ingram Micro

Ingram Micro gives resellers its data over an API of its own, part of the Xvantage platform: the product catalog, real-time prices and availability, and orders with their status. Whatever you do by hand in the portal can be done there by a call.

AutoFlow calls that API from your processes in Business Central. The price lands on the item, the order goes to Ingram Micro with no detour, and the status comes back to the purchase order. The processes for it are built, and every step stays visible in the editor.

Partner integration

AutoFlow and Ingram Micro, already connected

Agreed with the connector partner and built: we set the integration up with you, rather than you putting it together yourself.

Agreed with Ingram Micro

Ingram Micro is an AutoFlow connector partner. The integration uses the official interface, not a workaround.

Finished, not self-built

The processes are built. We set them up with you; you bring the credentials and the mappings.

Visible and extensible

Every step sits in AutoFlow as a process. You see what happens, and add to it without code.

Upgrade-safe

None of it sits in the Business Central core. An update leaves the integration untouched.

What it does

What AutoFlow and Ingram Micro exchange

Whatever Ingram Micro's reseller API offers, you can build in AutoFlow. Catalog, prices and orders are the most common cases.

Out of Business Central

  • Look up price and availability for the items on a quote, sales order or purchase order
  • Search Ingram Micro's catalog by manufacturer part number or Ingram part number
  • Send a released purchase order to Ingram Micro as an order
  • Change or cancel an open order at Ingram Micro

Into Business Central

  • Create items from the catalog, or update existing ones
  • Keep purchase prices and availability current on the item, by a scheduled process for instance
  • Write the Ingram order number and its status back onto the purchase order
  • Attach order responses and delivery notes from Ingram Micro to the purchase order
  • Check open orders regularly and react when something changes
What you need

What has to exist on your side

  • A customer account with Ingram Micro An active account with current sales. Ingram Micro requires that for access to the API.
  • Approved API access Requested in Ingram Micro's developer portal, naming the APIs you need. Ingram Micro says approval usually takes about two business days, and we help you with the request.
  • A mapping for your items Which item in Business Central matches which Ingram part number. Deciding that rule is the actual work.
Partnership

Questions we get asked

Is this the same as Xvantage?

Xvantage is Ingram Micro's platform, and the API AutoFlow talks to is part of it. So you do not need access to another system, only API approval for your Ingram Micro account.

Is there more than catalog and orders?

Yes. The API also covers quotes, invoices, returns, renewals, deals and freight estimates. Each of them fits into a process the same way.

Do I have to build the integration myself?

No. The processes for Ingram Micro are built, and we set them up with you. Because they sit in AutoFlow, you can extend them yourself afterward, with an approval before the order goes out for instance.

Can I test it before going live?

Yes, on both sides. Ingram Micro offers a sandbox environment for its API, and AutoFlow runs in your Business Central sandbox without limits.
